Petcha Rushane Translator is a simple two page
application which uses Javascript for the sole purpose of performance. Rather than
the user being sent to another page, this site uses Javascript to show and hide
parts of the page, resulting in a much faster response which is entirely performed
on the client machine. This produces a quick result for the end user. Because Petcha
Rushane is a Thai-English, English-Thai Translator and Interpreter it only made
sense that this site should provide either English or Thai content depending on
the users preferred language set on their computer. Taking advantage of the .NET
framework and it's ability to manage local resources, this site was built with a
multi lingual audience in mind.
Accepted Essays is a simple tool in which the client
had a need to accept essays online from University Students who have been selected
as a result of their essays. The requirement was a simple form and it should email
the essay to a specified email address. I suggested using the .NET Wizzard as a
means to collect the data. The rest is all done on the back end in C#.
The Current Event is a website designed to showcase
World News Headlines. Apart from the main set of pages available to the public,
tcenews.com provides an administration application which serves the purpose of uploading
links to news stories for non-tech-minded individuals. Administrators are able to
upload new links, images and create original stories as well as archive and delete
stories. tcenews.com is built on the .NET framework and takes advantage of web technologies
such as system.net.mail, xml, asp.net among others.
RUSHANE.COM/PHOTO This is my personal photography
site. From March of 2002 until March of 2007 I lived in a small town in Northern
India where I built and ran a Restaurant with a close friend of mine, studied Tibetan
Buddhism and worked as a stringer for European Press-Photo Agency (EPA) and the
Press Trust of India (PTI), this site showcases some of my photography work from
those times and will soon showcase some of my more recent work as well. This is
the first web site I built long before I started learning Web Development... I borrowed
a book on HTML from a friend of mine in India and started to "view source" on sites
that caught my eye and break down others code, finding out what makes a web page
work. I had not even realized at the time that I had incorporated JavaScript along
with in-line css into my page... I thought everything was a form of HTML. This site
is a work in progress and there is still so much to do here (including a conversion
over to ASP.NET). At this time, a lot of the information on this site is out of
date (i.e. the site states that I live in Thailand), I will get along to fixing
it in the future. In the mean time, check out "Reportage" and the Galleries titled
"Struggle for Freedom" and "Tsunami".
TRANSWORLD... IS HERE!!! At TransWorld, translators
across the web are able to post resumes and contact details as well as manage personal
bios. In addition, the Employer (or rather the individual in need of a translated
document) is able to perform a search which returns only the translators who are
able to translate from the Employers specified Source Language to the Employers
specified Target Language. Employer's likewise have the ability to manage a personal
account and upload/manage Jobs which are search able by registered translators as
well as rate translators providing a sort of reference to future employers.
This site is a well rounded example of the .NET Framework which uses the following
technologies…
•ASP.NET
•User Controls
•C# Code Behind
•Web Forms
•ADO.NET
•XML
•XSLT
•JavaScript
•Cross–Browser Consistency
I have big plans for this site and hope to have it available soon in a production
environment so that many of my friends who are translators will be able to find
themselves work off of this site. Although it is up and running at this time, TransWorld
Communication is NOT A FINISHED PRODUCT. Keep in mind that any information added
at this time will be deleted when TransWorldCommunication.com goes to publication.
Please... Feel free to visit and submit profiles as a translator and as an employer,
and remember... HAVE FUN!!!
